PHILLIPS Auction House recently concluded an extraordinary sale, The Geneva Jewels Auction: ONE, hosted on the 6th of November which saw some of the world’s most exquisite jewels achieve remarkable prices. Here, we shine a light on the top lots that garnered significant attention and fetched staggering sums, marking a successful event for collectors and connoisseurs of high jewelry alike.
Topping our list is the breathtaking Lot 110. A Fancy Intense Pink diamond ring that became the crown jewel of the auction, boasting a cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut diamond weighing 20.19 carats. Flanked by eloquent baguette diamonds, this masterpiece sold for a monumental CHF11,900,000. Accompanied by a GIA report affirming its VVS1 clarity, this piece was the epitome of rarity and beauty.
Next on our list is Lot 107, an embodiment of sunshine with its Fancy Intense Yellow diamond ring. The ring presented a round-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut diamond, a colossal 54.27 carats, and was sold for CHF1,330,500. Its internal flawlessness and vibrant natural color were certified by GIA, making it a stellar highlight of the auction.
Following the pink dazzler, Lot 109 by Fred featured an exquisite oval diamond ring, weighing 15.60 carats, nestled amidst baguette diamonds. With its D Colour and VS2 Clarity, this ring, signed Fred and bearing the French assay marks, was sold for CHF889,000. A Type IIa classification letter accompanies it, further attesting to its exceptional quality.
Lot 101 took us back to the vintage allure of the 1960s with a pair of natural pearl and diamond ear clips by Sterlé. Each featured drop-shaped natural pearls over 22 carats, complemented by brilliant and baguette-cut diamonds. With their rich history and SSEF report authenticating their saltwater origin, they fetched CHF482,600.
Rounding off our top five is Lot 58 from the house of Bulgari, a pair of earrings that are a testament to Bulgari’s craftsmanship. Set with sugarloaf cabochon sapphires totaling over 34 carats, and accentuated by calibré-cut rubies and baguette diamonds, these pieces were sold for CHF444,500. The sapphires, of Burmese origin and with no indications of heating, were accompanied by SSEF reports, sealing their desirability.
